3rd Annual Woman to Woman Conference!

What is the first thing you think of when you hear the word "conference?"  Long, boring workshops? People trying to sell you their goods and services? Watching the clock, waiting for it to be time to go back home?

On April 14th,  2012, the Farmworker Association of Florida, in partnership with the Women’s Studies Department at the University of Central Florida, the Youth and Young Adult Network at the National Farmworker Ministry, and the Hope Community Center, changed that outlook with the 3rd Annual Woman to Woman Conference!

Celebrating Farmworker Women throughout the Central Florida Community, the Woman to Woman Conference aims to raise awareness of the issues affecting woman in farmworker communities and ensure that they are able to lead healthy and productive lives.  With workshops ranging from health and safety, to the realities of domestic violence, to woman’s empowerment, all of the participants gained invaluable information and knowledge that they are able to take away with them.

With over 100 woman and their children attending the conference this year, the Farmworker Association of Florida allowed everyone to take a short break from their daily routine, while at the same time, making a positive change in their lives!

Thank you to everyone that participate, and everyone that made this year’s Woman to Woman Conference possible.  Keep up the fight for justice for farmworkers!
