The Farmworker Association of Florida is requesting to support our Rural Florida Communications (RFC) Project, which will train rural community-based organizations that work with farmworkers, immigrants, and low-income persons to utilize Skype for video conferencing to advance advocacy and policy change activities. Rural communities have distinct needs and challenges in effective use of technology to improve communications, advance collaborative work, and maximize resources. The RFC Project will bring together organizations from South, Central, and North Florida that work together to advocate for policy changes to improve the living and working conditions in farmworker communities. Through the RFC Project, these organizations will receive training on the benefits of using Skype; multilingual step-by-step instructions on Skype video conferencing and other features; and hands-on, interactive practice using Skype.
